MAJOR ROADWORKS OUTSIDE BLOXWICH C.C. Please be advised that there are major road works taking place in the vicinity of our ground probably until the end of the 2010 season Therefore I would advise leaving a little earlier than usual as virtually all visiting teams will have to divert from their usual routes
The main Stafford Road (outside our main entrance) is one way only in a southerly direction i.e ok if coming from Cannock etc
Teams travelling from Wolverhampton will need to turn left at the Sir Robert Peel public house and then right onto and through the Turnberry Estate to then join the Stafford Road as above
Teams coming from the south of our area will need to bypass Bloxwich High Street(one way in southerly direction also) down Elmore Green Road and go straight on at the Sir Robert Peel and as above
Teams travelling from the east of our area i.e Aldridge are advised to cut through the Lower Farm Estate to join the Stafford Road then turn left towards Bloxwich. Bloxwich C.C hope no one is incovenienced in any way
Regards
Chris Scott

Our League has a very good record of deveoping Umpiring expertise and we are always looking to encourage former players to take up umpiring.
All new prospective umpires should begin by taking the Level 1 Course in January.
The representative Team played their first game of the season on Wednesday 14th which proved to be a thrilling encounter against Worcester. Our own John Whistance has put pen to paper and scribed a witty aside, which is well worth a read. Please click here for details Colleagues,
We wrote to you all some time ago asking for nominations for players to represent the league at Under 19 level and so far no one has replied. Could you please as a matter of urgency submit your nominations to either Brian Fisher (Hammerwich CC) or Craig Cartwright (Wednesbury CC), whose details are one the website, to enable us to select a squad for the matches which will be held in August.
Many thanks
Brian and Craig.

AGM Tuesday 16th February 2010 click here to view main points
The AGM also saw the end of an era, when after many years of dedication and hard work
Chris Rudge (Treasurer)
and Ray Bickley (Welfare Officer) stepped down from heir respective posts. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris and Ray for all their hard work over the years
and wish them both a "happy retirement" Tom Waterhouse has paid the following tribute to both Chris and Ray
As a Life Member and former President and Chairman I wish to place on record
my own thanks and
tribute to both men. During my own long association with league I have not only been part of the league's progress but even more importantly witnessed the continued progress carried on by others. Chris has been a true professional both as Treasurer but also a committee member over a long period and we are all indebted to him for exercising strict financial control and accounting. Although Ray's length of service is less in year's ,the very important role which he has undertaken as Welfare Officer in this day and age of protecting our young people has been vital. Both of these colleagues have played well into their 50's which only goes to show they were better players than me !!!! I hope they still play the game occasionaly or better still find a shady spot and watch the cricket and tell everybody how good you were, something I do regularly!!!
Good Luck to you both and sincere thanks
Tom Waterhouse

Staffordshire Cricket THREAT TO INVESTMENT IN CRICKET IN STAFFORDSHIRE
Investment into grassroots cricket could be decimated if proposals of the Davies Report are upheld
click here for full details of report. On behalf of the Board may I express our gratitude to all stakeholders who recognise the severe threat which the Davies proposals pose to our sport and your excellent lobbying of MPs during the past month . I have received consistent feedback that your views have significantly influenced the debate .
I would also wish to pay tribute to the team who pulled this detailed response together during the past 3 months . It has been a huge task and the breadth and professionalism of the response has been the result of many long hours of drafting and investigation .
We now await the response of the Secretary of State and I shall update all parties once we receive further news
Best regards
