Subject: Message from the Results Secretary
Posted: 20th April 2008 by Secretary
Many thanks to all clubs for getting all the results to me on time, which enabled me to have the
website updated by 4pm on Sunday, which was my original goal.
I believe that we could improve upon this if we work together, and have a specific guideline,
if we are using either my home phone or mobile (mobile preferred).
Could I please ask you to adopt the following;
1) State:- The Two teams, Division, Date.
2) Who won the toss, what they decided to do and then the Scores,
Including the number of overs Bowled/Received
3) Finally the Result and Points per team.
And if there are any penalty points to be deducted eg overs not bowled in three
Hours. By stating your expected points, it enables me to check the system.
If you can do that then it will speed up the process when I enter the results on to the system
before updating the website. Also when using my home number to give your result, it does ring
4 or 5 times before the BT answerphone kicks in.
Once again thanks for being prompt last weekend.

Subject: Discipline
Posted: 16th August 2007 by Chairman
Unfortunately the acceptable and sometimes humourous banter between teams
amd players has degenerated into the growing current totally unacceptable trend of personal
abuse or comment directed at the opposition almost every ball that is bowled.
I appeal to all captains and club officals of the SCCC to control and stamp out this
unnacceptable behaviour which is rapidly becoming the flashpoint for unsavoury incidents
which are being reported to the Disciplinary Committee on far too many occassions.
If this trend continues far more punitive action will have to be taken which will only serve
to demean the game of cricket which should be played hard but fair.

Subject: SCCC definition of a tied game
Posted: 13 August 2005 by Secretary
A tied game is in accordance with Law 21 of the Laws of
Cricket clause 4. Both innings completed on the same score (the side
batting second must have completed its innings i.e. all out)
Law 21 states: The result of a match
shall be a tie when the scores are equal at the conclusion of play, but
only if the side batting last has completed its innings. In the Staffs
Club this is taken as the team batting second being all out.
