Message from the Fixture Secretary
Posted: 9th September 2009 by Fixture Secretary
"It would be appreciated if Clubs would advise at the earliest opportunity of their intentions of changing the number of teams to be entered into the League for the 2010 season
.
This season has seen an increase in the number of matches conceded due to a number of reasons which we understand.
We are also aware of other Clubs being in the better position of having surplus players.
Any Clubs with the intention of increasing their number of teams, please submit applications as soon as possible.
The League committee need to be aware of the anticipated number of teams for the 2010 season as soon as possible in order to determine actions required to obtain the optimum league structure of twelve team divisions."
If possible could you please let me know prior to or at the league meeting on the 28th September.
Regards
Paul Bailey
Fixture Secretary

Please don't forget!
The HOME TEAM must report all results to the Results Secretary, by telephone, e-mail or text
no later than 10pm on the date of the match. Failure to do so will result in a 3 point penalty.
Also the Results Secretary must receive a fully completed Match Result Form, posted no later than
the Monday following the date of the match, even though the match may have been cancelled or abandoned.
Failure to do so will result in a 5.00 fine. Should any club return 3 forms late in one season ALL
teams from that club in the SCCC will receive a three point penalty.
I trust all Teams will have a successful and enjoyable season and look forward to the above being adhered to.

Many thanks to all clubs for getting all the results to me on time.
Could I please ask you to adopt the following;
1) State:- The Two teams, Division, Date.
2) Who won the toss, what they decided to do and then the Scores,
Including the number of overs Bowled/Received
3) Finally the Result and Points per team.
And if there are any penalty points to be deducted eg overs not bowled in three
Hours. By stating your expected points, it enables me to check the system.
If you can do that then it will speed up the process when I enter the results on to the system
before updating the website. Also when using my home number to give your result, it does ring
4 or 5 times before the BT answerphone kicks in.
Once again thanks for being prompt last weekend.

Subject: SCCC definition of a tied game
Posted: 13 August 2005 by Secretary
A tied game is in accordance with Law 21 of the Laws of
Cricket clause 4. Both innings completed on the same score (the side
batting second must have completed its innings i.e. all out)
Law 21 states: The result of a match
shall be a tie when the scores are equal at the conclusion of play, but
only if the side batting last has completed its innings. In the Staffs
Club this is taken as the team batting second being all out.
