Please send your ball order for 2009 as soon as possible to Kevin Herbert.

Please note that the above mentioned player, having previously played for Willenahll CC and Wightwick & Finchfield CC, is currently barred from playing in the SCCC due to registration issues.
If this player wishes to join another club the matter will have to be addressed to the League Executive.

The League Committee would like to remind clubs of their responsiblity to provide suitable teas (both in terms of quality and quantity) on match days.
Also, please attempt to respect cultural requirements of opposition where possible.

The League Committee would like to express their appreciation to Umpire George Fowell for his service to the Staffs Club Cricket Championship over many years.

George has now retired.

All Club Umpires must be registered with Fred Barrett.

Registered Club Umpires must stand at the bowlers end for alternative overs if there is only on Panel Umpire appointed to the game.

Umpire Appointments for weeks 7 - 18 are now listed in the Umpires Section of the site.

As previously advised, they will be listed on this site only and no hard copy will be posted.

Due to circumstances that have arisen the following will be effective with immediate effect.

1) Rule 9.4 paragraph 3 will be applied as it is written and no new players can be registered with any club in Division 1 or 2 after the 31st April (existing club players may be registered if they are needed to be promoted from another team within that club).

2) Emergency registrations cannot be made without exception.

3) Transfers can still be made between clubs until the 31st July, but under no circumstances will players be allowed to play for their new clubs until the Registration Secretary has received the completed transfer form and applicable registration form.

Please be advised that in all Knockout matches this season, in addition to phoning/e-mailing the result fully completed Match Report forms must be filled in and sent back to me Immediately after the game.

I would also like to draw to your attention the rules of the competition which can be found on Page 84 of this years handbook. In particular the rule relating to playing players from the Birmingham Premier League and also the playing of regular 1st and 2nd Team players in 2nd and 3rd team knockout matches respectively.

Many thanks to all clubs for getting all the results to me on time, which enabled me to have the website updated by 4pm on Sunday, which was my original goal.

I believe that we could improve upon this if we work together, and have a specific guideline, if we are using either my home phone or mobile (mobile preferred).

Could I please ask you to adopt the following;

1) State:- The Two teams, Division, Date.

2) Who won the toss, what they decided to do and then the Scores, Including the number of overs Bowled/Received

3) Finally the Result and Points per team. And if there are any penalty points to be deducted eg overs not bowled in three Hours. By stating your expected points, it enables me to check the system.

If you can do that then it will speed up the process when I enter the results on to the system before updating the website. Also when using my home number to give your result, it does ring 4 or 5 times before the BT answerphone kicks in.

Further to the news item below, due to ground availability it has been agreed that Penkridge CC 3rd XI will play their fixtures in Divison 4 as per originally published, therefore leaving vacant fixtures in Division 3a instead.

Also, Penkridge CC will play their home fixtures at Wheaton Aston CC unless otherwise advised.

The Fixtures on this site for Divisions 3a and 4 have been changed to reflect this. These supercede the details in the handbook that was published before this change occured. All clubs affected have been notified.
